Hello members of Washington FCCLA!
My name is Christine Grant, your 2020-2021 State President. I am entering my senior year at Sumner High School in region three. While this last year may have been one of the most unprecedented years, I am excited and hopeful for all that is to come in this term.
Outside of FCCLA, I love being outdoors, cooking for my family, and finding good coffee! I also serve as a class officer for my school and actively volunteer throughout my community. I absolutely love meeting new people, so never hesitate to reach out! I want to get to know YOU!
When I joined FCCLA three years ago, I could have never imagined all the amazing opportunities, friendships, and experiences I have been presented with. My love for FCCLA continues to grow year after year, and I am excited to serve a group of world changers like you!
While our incoming school year may look drastically different, that does not mean we are not able to grow our leadership in FCCLA. My goal this year is to strengthen the bond between state officers and Washington members.
Starting this September, any person will be able to access the Going Beyond Measure with me – check out the Washington FCCLA website for details! You will have the opportunity to get to know officers and members on a personal level through their leadership stories. Plus, you can learn the in’s and out’s of leadership, advocacy, and how to grow as a member in FCCLA.
I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, lean into FCCLA, and see how amazing your life could change. What better time than now!
Never forget, you are loved, heard, and appreciated BEYOND MEASURE.

Hello Washington FCCLA! My name is Kirstin Johnson and I am proudly serving as your 2020-2021 State Vice President of Competitive Events! This year I am completing my junior year at Kittitas Secondary School and my first year in the Running Start program at Central Washington University.
Outside of this amazing organization I am active in several additional activities many of which cater to my love of competition. I have been playing volleyball for seven years. If you can’t find me on the court, you might just find me out on the boat fishing with family for a little bit of friendly competition…that I normally lose. I also love being a member of my youth group and competing in knowledge bowl.
The goal of the At-Large officers is to increase involvement of Washington’s members during the 2020-2021 year. In order to do my part, I set a goal to increase awareness of and involvement in competitive events. To achieve this goal I plan to create a pocket guide to competitive events that members can use as a resource.
Next, I am excited to feature photos of your chapters and projects in an informational video about competitive events. The video will be shared with chapters and can be used to inform and recruit new members and even bring exciting opportunities to the attention of returning members.
Finally, I am creating a workshop about the various competitive event opportunities which will be presented during fall regional meetings.
I am Beyond excited to see the amazing things each and every one of you can do through competitive events this year!

Calvin Wallace
Hello Washington FCCLA, my name is Calvin Wallace this year I will be serving as your State Vice President of Membership! I am currently a senior at Toledo High School in Region 2 and I’m thrilled for this upcoming year.
This year as your Washington VP of membership I hope to help you as members and advisers to increase your chapter membership by using my program HIGH 5.
HIGH 5 is an acronym that will help you find new ways to recruit members into your chapter and get them more involved. If you would like to learn more about HIGH 5 go to the Chapter Activities page and you will find more detail about this program.
Some things you should know about me, is I seek discomfort to get out of my comfort zone and I love meeting new people. Don’t be afraid to talk to me or shoot me an email. I play three sports a year: football, wrestling, and track, and this will be my 7th year of being in FCCLA. I am excited for all of Washington FCCLA start and finish the year with a High 5.

Caden B. Doggett
Hi, my name is Caden B. Doggett. I am the 2020-2021 VP of Parliamentary Procedure and Finance for Washington State FCCLA. This year I am a Senior at Chelan High School.
This year I hope to work with my State Officer team to increase the engagement of members and the outreach of FCCLA.
This year, to promote Parliamentary Procedure, I will release videos about the basics of Parli Pro and follow up with quizzes, and the first three people to get 100% will get a shoutout on social media and in the Washington Weekly Newsletter.
I will also be writing small articles in the Washington Weekly based upon the Financial Fitness national program.
But now for a little about me, I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, paddle boarding and skiing. I work at a local restaurant in downtown Chelan and teach ski lessons in the winter. I am also entering my second year in Running Start at Wenatchee Valley College.

Welcome FCCLA members, advisers, and enthusiasts!
I am simply overjoyed; not only because you have come across this page, but because you have decided to rule your leadership through FCCLA. I am Briana Castro, your State Vice President of National Programs. I am more than ready to help you, be you, and go beyond measure on The Ultimate Leadership Experience.
Despite the challenges the world has thrown at us, I wholeheartedly believe that this upcoming year will lead us towards new horizons in our families, careers, and communities. Personally, I will be using our National Programs to improve the quality of my life, now and in the future. As a rising junior who will be attending community college full time, Career Connection will help ensure that I be proactive and choose classes connected to my future career. Not only that, but programs such as Student Body will greatly improve my health for swim and wrestling.
The possibilities are truly unlimited, and it is my goal to help encourage you to learn more about our National Programs and work towards empowerment through related projects.
This year, I have designed a state incentive to help you and your chapter LEAD Through National Programs. To participate, individuals or chapters plan and lead three projects related to one of the National Programs (excluding Community Service and Power of One). It can be as big as creating a car safety campaign for FACTS, or as small as saving up the money you would use for your morning coffee for Financial Fitness. After every project completed, one verification form must be submitted. Remember to take lots of pictures and videos for project evidence. Once you or your chapter completes and submits verification forms for three different projects, you will receive a FREE t-shirt and recognition at the state level!
I am looking forward to seeing the amazing projects that you will complete this year. For any additional information or questions, please reach out at bcastro@wa-fccla.org.
Washington FCCLA members, advisers, and enthusiast…be YOU and rule your leadership!

If you are looking for an interesting read, then just stay here! Anyways maybe I should introduce myself, I’m Alan Hernandez and I’m your State Vice President of Public Relations for the 2020-2021 year!
I’m a senior at Nooksack Valley High School located in Region 5. As VP of PR I hope to create with our Washington FCCLA members (that includes you) a strong bond and support that can be built through social media!
Every month there will be a monthly Social Media Challenge – members YOU can do! These Social Media Challenges will be announced on the Washington FCCLA Instagram(@wafccla).
To get recognized you will need to have completed the challenge and tag us (@wafccla). You guys can decide whether to post on your Instagram Stories or make an actual Instagram post as long as you tag us!
At the end of each month we will pick and post the monthly winner and shout them out! Enough about that! Here are a few things maybe some of you will relate to! I love hikes and their views! I play soccer and wrestle. I love learning about history in my own time. I love people and I enjoy talking and listening to them!
One other thing! On the Washington FCCLA Youtube I will make vlog styled videos for members to get the different view of what FCCLA is and what we stand for!

Hello Washington FCCLA!
My name is Aurora Hudson Beeks and I am your 2020-2021 Sate Vice President of Recognition. I will be going into my Junior year at Nathan Hale High school in Region 4.
When I’m not doing FCCLA work, I’m usually hanging out with friends or practicing for swim or cheer season! Being able to work with others is something I learned from being on teams, and also something I can share with the rest of the SEC!
This year, as your VP of Recognition, I hope to help new and old members alike work towards completing their personal and chapter-wide goals. I also hope to recognize the deserving members, advisors, and volunteers who have helped us so much throughout the past years and time to come.
The Chapter of the Month Award!
I want to show that chapter members are important, but so are the chapters themselves! To accomplish this there are a few important steps listed below:
- Each Chapter will fill out a goal sheet sent to them at the beginning of the year. They should fill out a few items they want to achieve by the state executive council meeting in March
- Each month, two regions will be selected, and it is the chapter members jobs to fill in what they did in regards to their goals that month.
- At the end of the month, I will tally up the overall participation scores and reward the winning chapters with recognition on our social media platforms and at the state executive council as well!
- There will also be a notice in the FCCLA newsletter explaining this more when the time comes!
Thank you so much for voting for me and I hope to do Region 4 and Washington FCCLA proud!

Alyssa Lloyd
Hey there Washington FCCLA,
Alyssa here, serving as your Washington State Vice President of Community Service. I’m headed into my junior year at Reardan High School. Outside of my FCCLA chapter, I live in the small town of Reardan, with my parents, older sister, horses, my dog Bella, a cat named Tigra and a bunch of chickens. With all my animals running about, it should come as no shock that I am a 3 year FFA member. I also participate in Knowledge Bowl, Honor Society, Captains Council, volleyball, ASB, and take piano lessons. I’ve played for 11 years and plan to teach beginner students this fall.
I volunteer within my community too! I am a waitress at my local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, a summer camp counselor, and I make posters for hospital Christmas drives. I also help coach elementary students in competitive math. When I’m not juggling school, extracurriculars and volunteering, you can catch me at car shows with my dad, hitting a volleyball against the barn, or curled up with a good book.
Entering the year as a first time officer, I definitely have my eyes set on some pretty big goals. The statewide community service project for the upcoming year has a focus on Child Abuse Awareness and Domestic Violence Prevention, essentially ending violence in the home. This cause has always been dear to my heart, but in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic, now more than ever, it is important to educate on healthy relationships and signs of abuse, as people are spending abundant amounts of time at home.
At the State Leadership Conference, I plan on setting up a run/walk/jog, earning funds to prevent violence. In the weeks leading up to the State Conference, I ask that members all try to get pledges from parents, teachers, neighbors, or anybody looking to support an amazing cause, that way every mile you run, is run with purpose!
This year, I am also setting up monthly challenges. If you are up for winning cool prizes and learning a bit about violence prevention, then these are the challenges for you! Some months will require a picture and others will involve writing, art or teamwork. Each month a winner will be selected and recognized by our state social media.
Alongside raising money, increasing awareness and educating all of our amazing members, I also feel the cause takes on a more prominent meaning when it hits close to home. I ask that chapters select domestic violence or child abuse prevention organizations within their community to “adopt.” My hope is that every region gets participation by having chapters donate self-care items and make baskets. You never know, learning and donating within your local area might just bring everyone closer while spreading the love around Washington State!
We have a busy year ahead of us Washington FCCLA! I’m looking forward to my junior year, but beyond measure, I’m so excited to join the SEC as a state officer and join all of you at state, running against violence. Remember, there is no minimum to generosity. Give what you can while growing as a person. I’m confident we can do this!
Enthusiastically,
Alyssa Lloyd

P.S. I want to give a special shout out to Jana’s Campaign for sponsoring and partnering with Washington FCCLA to fulfill the state service project! I attached the link to Jana’s Campaign’s website and social media below. Also, I encourage you to watch Jana’s story. We all could learn a thing or two from Jana. I have no doubt in my mind that Washington’s FCCLA members will work hard to do her justice and prevent domestic violence this year and always. Thank you Jana’s Campaign!

Liz Brazeau
Hey, Washington FCCLA!
I’m Liz Brazeau, your current State Vice President of Region 6! I’m a senior at Wenatchee High School, and this will be my third year in FCCLA. I am so excited to serve you for the 2020-2021 school year!
Outside of FCCLA, you can catch me performing with my choir, singing on my own, or skating with the Wenatchee Figure Skating Club. For the past 12 years, I’ve been bettering my skills on the ice, as well as in my vocal lessons with my teacher, Amy. I love spending time with my friends at school, and making connections with my teachers every year. My favorite classes are choir, French, and any time I get to TA for my adviser, Cori Montgomery.
Navigating this year in FCCLA is going to be difficult. My goal has always been to increase FCCLA membership and participation at the local, regional, and state level. However, I now know I need to do what I can do make FCCLA, on the computer or at school, worthwhile for every single member. I hope to create an atmosphere of excitement and drive in my chapter and my region, so members have the opportunity to feel the same way I do about this amazing organization!
Keep up to date with me, my chapter, and Region 6 on our social media-

Jillian Provaznik
Hello Washington FCCLA!
My name is Jillian Provaznik and I am serving as your Washington State Vice President of Region 7. I am going into my senior year at Kittitas Secondary School and am also a running start student at Central Washington University.
Some things about me are I am originally from Nebraska, GO BIG RED! I play volleyball, both for a club team and for my high school, participate in my school’s track and field team, where I throw javelin, and am also a team captain, I play piano, and I LOVE to bake!!
To me, a couple of FCCLA’s best attributes is its ability to bring people together and that family is its central focus. Now more than ever, FCCLA’s focus on family and its capacity to bring people together can be capitalized in all aspects! That being said, during my year of service it is my goal to promote FCCLA in our communities, schools, and families.
This year region 7 will also have the opportunity to participate in a membership poster contest. Winning posters will be announced at the fall regional meeting. Region 7-chapter members will also have the opportunity to create a 45 second video of chapter involvement in their communities and schools. All submissions will be posted on the region 7 Instagram page and all participants will get a “Media challenge” ribbon for their state conference name tag.
Despite the setbacks we have experienced, I can’t wait to see how we all find new ways to Rule our Leadership, Beyond Measure!

Before we get into some business, let me tell you some things about me! I am of Laotian descent, meaning my family comes from the country of Laos, which is smushed right in-between Thailand and Vietnam! Outside of FCCLA you can normally find me at my sewing machine tailoring or making different clothes, in the Theatre building at my college campus rehearsing some lines, or trying to make my island as cozy as can be in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! (。^‿^。)
With this being my first and final year as a state officer, I plan on making this year as best as can be despite the situations that may arise! This year, the other regional officers and I have decided that our goal would be to promote FCCLA within our homes, schools, and communities so many others get to know how amazing of an organization FCCLA is!

Rebecca Wright
HELLO Washington FCCLA,
My name is Rebecca Wright, your 2020 – 2021 State Vice President of Region 10. I am a senior at Kettle Falls High School, and I am so excited to be a part of this year’s State Officer team. This is my third year of FCCLA, and I have loved every minute of this amazing experience.
FCCLA has taught me so many things about myself and has encouraged me to be my best self. I have made many new friends and have gotten to serve my community. This year my goal is to inform family, and community members about FCCLA, because I would not be the person, I am today without FCCLA. Through FCCLA my relationships with my family, community, and friends have gotten stronger. My leadership skills have also grown, and it is all thanks to the FCCLA Leaders and Advisors.
Some activities that I am involved in are Girl Scouts, Church, and Youth Group. Some of my favorite things to do with my free time are sewing, kayaking, camping, playing my saxophone, and I love to sing. My favorite subject in school is English because you get to read about stuff that actually happened, and fantasy. Also, you get to voice your opinion through your writing. This is one reasons why I love music so much is because every song has a meaning, a story, and an opinion. FCCLA inspires students to be themselves and tell their stories.
This year I have planned an activity for chapters in Region 10 to do. It is a Fun Family Community Night during FCCLA Week. It is an event that highlights all of your chapter’s accomplishments, and what they will accomplish.
I am very proud to be the State Vice President of Region 10. If you ever have any questions or just want to talk just email me at rwright@wa-fccla.org. I am so excited to see how Washington FCCLA evolves and grows this year. My words to you are get involved, be yourself, and love who you are because you are amazing.
Thank you,
Rebecca Wright
