UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES, To Infinity and BEYOND
Three Rivers Convention Center, Kennewick, WA
Approximately 434 FCCLA members, 83 Advisers, 18 parents/chaperones, 29 guests and Washington State Staff attended the 2017 Unlimited Possibilities, To Infinity and BEYOND State Leadership Conference in Kennewick.
252 STAR Event Participants competed in 27 Events Wednesday. Patrick Grady, motivational speaker, gave a rousing Keynote at our Opening Session Wednesday evening. Following Opening Session, our new 2017-18 State Executive Council was elected through our 10 Regions .
Thursday, Members enjoyed meaningful leadership workshops sponsored by Tri-Leadership:
- Managing Stress and Balancing Pressure: How to Avoid the Pitfalls!
- Get Back Up Again! Learning to Accept Failure
- Infinite Opportunities with Family and Consumer Sciences
That afternoon, members were given the opportunity to participate in a Digital Reality Fair, sponsored by the Washington State Employees Credit Union. Members practiced financial literacy using their smart phones and making life decisions.
STAR Event medals were awarded at our Recognition Banquet Thursday evening and 127 of those Gold Medal winners will be competing as our National STAR Event Representatives in Nashville, TN in July.
Our New 2017-18 Executive Council was announced with Cassandra Bartley from Toledo High School serving as our new State President.
